Frequently Asked Questions

Who manages the facility?

A Chief Executive Officer is in charge of service provision at Ashleigh House, The Brenda Burditt Manor, Eastwood Park and Northwood Park. The CEO is responsible for driving the Strategic Plan of the organisation and reports to a locally managed, community based, not-for-profit Board of Management. The senior management team consists of a Clinical Supervisor responsible for clinical care, the lifestyle program at Ashleigh House and The Manor as well as ensuring accreditation requirements are met. A Corporate Services Manager oversees hotel services, business services, human resources, payroll and quality compliance (non-clinical). A Quality Coordinator works across all levels of the organisation to ensure accreditation and quality of care practices are continually monitored.  A Contracts Administrator oversees all admissions to residential care, respite care, and the independent living units as well as handling supplier services and accounts.

Can I afford to live at Ashleigh House?

The room price or Refundable Accommodation Deposit for Ashleigh House is $320,000. Whether a resident is required to pay this amount is based on a Centrelink Asset Summary and assessed on a case by case basis. Some residents are assessed to pay the whole amount or part of this. There are options to part pay or pay interest on any balance. Any Refundable Accommodation Deposit paid is reimbursed to the resident or their estate on departure from the facility.

Many residents are classed as ‘concessional’ and are not liable to pay the Refundable Accommodation Deposit, this will apply to most residents who are in receipt of a full aged or disability pension.

The room price or Refundable Accommodation Deposit for The Brenda Burditt Manor which is a secure dementia specific wing is $400,000 but once again a fully ‘concessional’ resident will most likely not be assessed by Centrelink as liable to pay this.

A comprehensive quote on relevant fees and charges before admission will be given to each resident who enters care.

What are the pricing options for the independent living units at Eastwood or Northwood Park?

The independent living units are available on a ten year fixed price contract with the only additional charge the monthly maintenance fee currently at $443.30 per month. Refer to the website for pricing of one bedroom, one and a half bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom options.

Units are also available on a short term rental option. This can be discussed with Chalmers Real Estate.
